Climate


The climate is equipped with 18 different climate zones as diverse as its geography: In the west, north and northeast, there is strong continental climate with very cold winters and hot summers. In the south, however, the climate is subtropical to tropical. Tibet has a special high-mountain climate.

The area consists of China to 1.5 percent in cities, 2 percent of wetlands, wasteland from 6.5 percent, 9 percent from the forest, 21 percent of desert, 24 percent grassland and 36 percent of arable land.

As the adjacent picture, however, show that agriculture in China is essentially only in the south-eastern half of the country possible. An approximate boundary shows the red border line from the 380 mm rainfall per year is reported.
